Mica Stove Glass (Isinglass) Replacement Panels
Mica, also known as isinglass, has been used for decades as a reliable viewing panel material in wood stoves, coal stoves, and other high-heat appliances. Traditionally made from natural muscovite mica, these panels provide a warm, amber-tinted view of the fire and are especially common in antique and non-airtight stoves.
We offer a selection of standard sizes in clear mica that can be ordered directly online for quick and easy replacement.

Ceramic Stove Glass – Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use tempered glass in a wood stove?
No. Tempered glass is not designed for sustained high heat or direct flame exposure (400° F). Wood stoves require ceramic stove glass that can withstand continuous high temperatures without shattering (1290 °F continuous, ~1400°F for short periods of time).
What temperature is your ceramic stove glass rated for?
Our 3/16" ceramic glass is rated for continuous operating temperatures up to 1,290°F and for short periods of time up to 1,400°F. Always operate your appliance within the manufacturer’s recommended temperature range.
What thickness do I need?
Our ceramic glass is 3/16" thickness, which is the industry standard for most wood stove and fireplace insert applications. Always match your original glass thickness unless your stove manufacturer specifies otherwise. We do offer other types of glass in different thicknesses. If you need a different thickness, contact us here and we'll be happy to help.

Is this glass safe for coal or pellet stoves?

If its a custom order or a low volume, it can not be returned. We will provide a discount on a replacement. If you're not sure, please contact us before ordering.
